One person has been found dead and another two men are missing in what is suspected to be deaths due to flash flooding in Mae Taeng.
The body of one of the men was found in the Mae Taeng River near Chokchai Elephant Camp in Kuet Chang yesterday, Aug. 26 at around 8 p.m.
All three men were last seen Aug. 23 when they left their homes in the Maetaman area to “find forest products.”
While the official cause of death of the man found dead was awaiting an autopsy, the suspected cause of death is drowning.
Heavy rain this week across Chiang Mai Province has resulted in isolated flash floods leading concerned relatives and police to believe that a flash flood is likely the cause of death for all three men.
Emergency services workers and locals are currently searching for the bodies of the two remaining missing men.
