Provincial District 5 police found one million yaba tablets in a large shed in Chang Phueak this morning, Aug. 20.
Police, acting on a tip-off that drugs were being stored on the premises, led a raid on the shed near the Chiang Mai International Convention and Exhibition Center at around 11 a.m.
According to reports, the police were told that the drugs were being stored at the location waiting on transport to central Thailand. Why police raided the premises versus attempting to intercept the drug runners is not clear.
Along with the drugs being confiscated the police investigation is said to be ongoing.
