Over 300 homes damaged as storm rips through Phayao district

Over 300 homes have been damaged after a severe storm ripped through a district in Phayao Province early this morning, Nov. 19.

The storm struck before dawn and affected houses in Moo 1, 2, 12 and 14 in Nam Waen, Chiang Kham District.

According to reports, the storm was described as extremely violent with high winds bringing down dozens of trees, power poles and also ripping roofs of houses.

At the time of writing there were no reports of injuries, however, some places remain cut off due to trees blocking roads.

Repairs aren’t expected to be in full swing until tomorrow as access to affected areas needs to be cleared first.
