Police searching for two men who tried to rob a Chang Phueak ATM

Chang Phuak police are searching for two men who attempted to rob an ATM in the grounds of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University yesterday, June 28.

Staff discovered the attempted ATM heist at 3:45 p.m. when they were called to scene as someone had reported a Bangkok Bank ATM as being out or order.

Upon entering the area behind the ATM, the staff discovered that the machine had been unplugged and that there were scorch marks, consistent with a portable gas welder on the rear access panel.

Police are investigating the matter, including CCTV footage in the area and believe that the timing of the attempted robbery was not a coincidence as the machine had been topped up with 4 million baht the day before. There was over 3 million baht in the ATM at the time of the attempted robbery.
