Parts of Phayao suffered power outages and buildings were damaged as summer storms hit the province yesterday, March 3.
The worst-hit areas were Moo 4,5,7 and 9 in Phra That Khing Kaeng, Chun District where at least 15 buildings were damaged. Damage primarily consisted of roofs flying off although in one case a farm shed has collapsed onto a tractor and truck parked below it.
There were also reports of minor damage and power outages in Mueang Phayao as well. Provincial officials were inspecting the damage this morning, March 4.
Further storms are expected with a summer storm warning in place for the north, including Phayao through to March 5.
Chiang Mai itself has so far missed out on storms but there have been reports of small amounts of rain in the metro area this morning.
