Rescue workers and police were called to Suthep yesterday, Nov. 10 at around 7:25 p.m. after a drunk woman was reported to have jumped into the khlong (irrigation canal) along Canal Road (Highway 121).
Rescue workers from Suthep Municipality and officers from Phuping Ratchaniwet Police Police were quick to the scene after being called by concerned locals who had witnessed the woman’s erratic behavior.
The unnamed woman, possibly in her 20s or 30s, nationality unknown was treated at the scene for cuts and abrasions. Police are also described as assisting in calming her down.
It’s not entirely clear what happened next with a report in Thai only noting that she was taken away by police but to where and for what purposes is not known. One of the pictures from the scene shows the woman in the back tray of a police pickup truck.
