A man from San Sai was found dead next to his luggage on a road in Bangkok this morning, March 6.
The body was found outside a home in Soi Vibhavadi-Rangsit 42, Vibhavadi-Rangsit Road, Lat Yao, Chatuchak District by a passerby at around 7 a.m.
The deceased, Mr. Parinya Hengcharoen, 44 from San Na Meng, San Sai is believed to have been dead for two to three hours before his body was discovered.
It was initially feared that he may have collapsed and died from Wuhan coronavirus given he died outside a home lived in by Japanese citizens and may have traveled to Japan. Family members later confirmed, however that he had only been visiting Bangkok from San Sai and that he had been suffering from chronic illnesses, diabetes and alcoholism.
The body was transported to a Bangkok hospital for an autopsy before being released to family members for funeral rites.
