The road death in San Sai early this morning, Sept. 17 where a car was destroyed after crashing into an electricity pole killing one person involved a drunk 14-year-old kid who had broken up with his girlfriend.

As Chiang Mai One reported earlier, a sedan crashed into an electricity pole on Chiang Mai – Phrao Road (Highway 1001) in Nong Han (Mae Jo) at around 3:48 a.m. There was very little left of the sedan aside from its trunk.

The driver has now been identified as Mr. Tassapon Sujiworakul, 14 from Mae Rim. TNews reports that Sujiworakul had “quarreled with his girlfriend” earlier in the night with her dumping him.

After that occurred, Sujiworakul got drunk then later borrowed a friends car to visit a tavern where his girlfriend worked to try again. The girlfriend once again rejected him with Sujiworakul then departing, while drunk at speed.

Suffice it to say, Sujiworakul didn’t make it home.

His body was taken to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital for an autopsy before being released to relatives for funeral rites.
