Smog blamed for car accident in San Sai

A motorist who managed to drive his car off the road in San Sai today, April 2 has said that smog was to blame.

The accident occurred on Chiang Mai – Phrao Road (Highway 1001) in Mae Faek at around 10 a.m.

The driver told police that they lost sight of the road while traversing the highway resulting in them driving off the road and ending up sideways at the edge of a rice paddy.

The unnamed driver shared details of his accident so others are made aware of the dangers of driving in smog. “He warned the public who drive cars on the road should show increased caution as accidents may occur this way,” Thai language media reported.

While possibly already suffering a brain injury, the driver wasn’t injured in the crash.
