Police and emergency services workers were successful in talking down a woman threatening to jump into the Ping River last night, April 27.
The incident occurred on the Kua Saree Wiangping Bridge (known in English as a Pa Tan Bridge) on the Superhighway at around 7 p.m.
The unnamed woman, believed to be aged between 25 and 30 was found to be standing on the edge of the bridge while threatening to jump into the river below by those passing by.
It took 30 minutes to talk her down but she did come down and was conforted at the scene.
The exact reason she was suicidal is unknown but she is believed to have been suffering stress and various other problems.
Relatives were contacted to take her home from the scene.
