Summer storm damages 8 homes in San Pa Tong

While most of Chiang Mai suffers from smog, residents in San Pa Tong had some relief last night, March 26 when a summer storm struck, damaging eight houses in the process.

The storm struck both Tambon Ban Klang and Tambon Nam Bo Luang at around 8 p.m.

Pictures from the scene show buildings which had lost their roofs as well as downed trees damaging buildings. There were also power failures in the area due to storm damage.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

A summer storm warning issued by the Thai Meteorological Department earlier in the week expired last night. The current long term forecast shows a chance of rain in Chiang Mai on April 2.
