Six teens aged between 14 and 15 have been charged after a viral video circulated of them dancing at an intersection in Mae Rim during curfew hours.
The video was recorded at the Don Kaew Intersection on Chiang Mai – Fang Road (Highway 107) at around 1 a.m. May 26.
The video shows the teens both dancing in the intersection as well as pole dancing in what Thai media described as “mocking the curfew.”
The six teens were charged by Mae Rim Police with breaching the Emergency Decree by leaving a residence during prohibited hours as well as a charge of gathering in a group of larger than five people in breach of social distancing rules.
The charges are set to be considered by the Chiang Mai Youth and Family Court.
