Three arrested for drinking beer together in Chang Phueak

Three people were arrested last night, April 27 in Chiang Phueak after they were found drinking beer together in breach of the Kingdom-wide coronavirus emergency decree.

The three were found drinking beer together at a restaurant in Ku Tao Road near the Chiang Mai Municipal Stadium at around 9 p.m.

The alleged illegal social gathers were named as Mr. Pornchai, 49, Miss Rattana, 46 and Miss Arporn, 45.

Where the beer came from was not disclosed. They were charged with joining together to organize activities or mingling anywhere in violation of the Emergency Decree Act 2005.

Chiang Mai One notes that that while drinking beer shouldn’t be a crime, the three accused are clearly are not very bright either – per the photo above that were sitting out in the open breaking the law.
