Three Chiang Mai properties raided over online forex scam

Three properties across the Chiang Mai metro area have been raided as part of an investigation into an alleged online forex scam.

The alleged scam, a site going by the name of Forex-3D is said to use descriptive advertising offering returns of 60% to 80%. The site also appears to possibly be a Ponzi scam with a mutli-level membership scheme that rewards existing members to sign up new users.

It’s not clear where specifically in Chiang Mai the raids took place but one of them was at a go karting establishment per the picture above.

Raids earlier this week in Bangkok netted 743 million in assets from those suspected to be behind the company. The Bangkok Post reported at the time that there are at least 3,000 victims of the alleged scam who invested a 1.58 billion baht.
