Three housewives caught transporting 500,000 yaba tablets in Chiang Rai

Drug running with a difference in Chiang Rai Saturday, Feb. 16 where three housewives were caught transporting 500,000 yaba tablets.

The women were pulled over by police driving a Chevrolet Captiva with the drugs hidden in the back on Chiang Mai – Chiang Rai Road (Highway 118) in Ban Rong Sala, Moo 3 Dong Mada, Mae Lao District at around 11 a.m.

The three housewives in the car were identified as Mrs. Veena, 52 from Phayao, Ms. Supaporn Wongmadmuang, 50 from Chonburi and Ms. Suphakong Wongwong, 47 from Chai Prakan.

Once the drugs were discovered, the women eventually confessed, saying that they had been paid 200,000 baht to pickup the drugs in Fang and drive them to Hat Yai in Songkhla Province.

They clearly didn’t get very far.
