Three seriously injured as sedan rear ends pickup truck at 150km/h on Superhighway

Three people have been seriously injured after the vehicle they were traveling in rear ended a pickup truck at nearly 150 km/h on the Superhighway yesterday, April 1.

The accident occurred in Si Bua Ban in Mueang Lamphun at around 4:30 a.m.

The three men in the vehicle, all from Rayong, were heading towards Chiang Mai at high speed when they have somehow managed to not notice a pickup truck in their lane, slamming directly into it.

While Thai media described the vehicle they were traveling in as a “trendy luxury car,” photos show it to be nothing more than a yellow Chinese-manufactured MG.

Notably, though, the force of the impact was so severe that the speedometer at frozen at the speed the accident occurred at – just under 150 km/h.

The three men were taken to Lamphun Hospital.
