Two people have died after the motorcycle they were on was hit by a pickup truck in Saraphi last night, March 15.
The accident occurred on Yothathikan Chiang Mai – Lamphun Road along the railway line in Yang Neung at around 9:05 p.m.
The two people on the motorcycle – an unidentified woman and man believed to be in the 30s were taken to hospital in a serious condition before dying later from their injuries.
Police are investigating with the area being dark believed to be a contributing factor. Remarkably there are solar-powered lights in the area but police found that the batteries had been stolen from some of them and therefore they weren’t working.
