Two dead in Mae Taeng murder-suicide

Two people were found dead following an apparent murder-suicide in Mae Taeng yesterday, Aug. 14.

The two bodies were found in a house in Ban Pang Kuet, Moo 16 Inthakhin following a tip-off after neighbors heard a fight then gunshots.

At the scene, police found the bodies of two Lahu hill tribe people – Mrs. Na Mi Do Choe, 42 originally from Chiang Dao and an unnamed man described only as 55. Mrs Choe had two gunshot wounds, one to the head and one to the neck while the man had a single gunshot wound to the head.

A .38 caliber hand gun was found at the scene with five rounds of ammunition remaining.

The pair had lived together as husband and wife for around five to six years before separating following an argument around two weeks ago. It’s believed that the man returned to the address hoping for a reconciliation but instead an argument took place with him shooting his ex before taking the gun to himself.

After an autopsy, the bodies were expected to be handed over to family members for funeral rites today.
