Two people were injured when a bus transporting 40 people ran off the road and hit a tree in Lampang early Sunday morning, July 28.
The accident happened on Phaholyothin Road (Highway 1) between the 673 and 674 kilometer markers in Na Saeng, Ko Kha District at 12:05 a.m.
The bus was transporting employees from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand Mae Moh back to Lampang when the bus driver lost control of the bus. Fortunately, only two people suffered minor injuries while the rest of the passengers were described as being shocked but otherwise unharmed.
As most of the passengers were asleep at the time the cause of the accident was not known although police believe that either the driver lost control on a wet, slippery road or may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
