A joint operation between the Royal Thai Police, Chiang Mai Narcotics Suppression Division 5 Police and Mae Ai Police arrested two men and seized one million yaba tablets near the Myanmar border in Mae Ai yesterday Nov. 18.
The men were caught transporting the drugs in a Chiang Mai-registered Toyota Vigo pickup truck in Ban San Meng 6 in Tambon Malika.
Police discovered 10 wrapped lots of yaba, each with 5 smaller yellow bags holding 20,000 tablets each.
The two men in the vehicle – Mr.Teevind Manasanotham, 23 from Chiang Dao and Mr. Noppadol Sae, 22 from Wiang Pa Pao, Chiang Rai have been detained in custody pending a court hearing on charges of possession of a category 1 drug for unauthorized distribution.
