Warning about fake 50 baht notes being passed in Chiang Mai

A Chiang Mai shop owner is warning others have he was paid with a fake 50 baht note for a purchase in his shop.

The person, going by the name of Ji Jirapron on Facebook, said that a large number of people on motorcycles had visited their shop in Fa Ham on Nov. 6 when one handed over a 50 baht note for 35 baht worth of goods.

Given the shop was busy at the time, the owner didn’t look at the note closely until later.

While some fake notes that pop up from time to time in the north are fairly complex, this note, on the other hand, was nothing of the sort, with the rear of the note being completely blank, per the picture.

It’s not clear whether police investigating with the owner mostly wanting to warn others.
