You & Me Bar together with Kingdom Life Foundation have been distributing free food and basic necessities to the girls working in the bars in Loi Kroh Boxing Stadium, Chiang Mai.
Over the last few weeks, Kingdom Life Foundation has teamed up with You & Me Bar to provide much-needed food and basic necessities to the girls working in the bars in and around Chaing Mai’s Loi Kroh Boxing Stadium.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, many of the girls were without work and received no salary or assistance from the government. Even after the lockdown measures were relaxed and the bars were able to re-open, the lack of tourists seriously affected the bar worker’s income.
Kingdom Life Foundation and You & Me Bar owner, Ai, along with her team decided to join forces and supply the girls with rice, noodles, sanitary products and other basic supplies to help get them through these tough times.
Although a lack of foreign tourists has meant that numbers are down in the Boxing Stadium, some bars have been attracting more local expats than before, including many expat bar owners coming down to show their support and enjoy a few beers and a game of pool.
