A teak house is no longer after a fire destroyed it last night in Ban Thi, Lamphun, for all intents and purposes now an outer suburb of Chiang Mai.
The fire broke out at the house in Moo 3 Huai Yap at 9 p.m yesterday (Aug. 19) with two fire engines attending the scene.
The fire at the house, a traditional Thai house built out of teak, took one hour to get under control by which time it had gutted the house but had fortunately not spread to neighboring properties.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire with a short circuit expected to be the cause. No people were reported to be injured.
