Flooding strikes Chiang Rai again

Four days after being struck by flooding in a number of sub-districts, Chiang Saen in Chiang Rai Province along with various other districts were once again suffering flooding Monday morning (Aug. 27).

Flooding was reported to be affecting Mae Chan, Mae Kham, Mae Pae, Mae Pae, Ban Huay Nam Yen and Ban Sae sub-districts with both houses, roads and agricultural land inundated with water.

The Royal Thai Army along with emergency services workers were reported to be assisting villagers with flood mitigation and repairs.

Not that any flooding is good flooding but it was not particularly severe with water reported to be only as high as 30 centimeters in some houses.

Baring no further rain today the water is expected to drain away into the Mekong River by nightfall.
