Government issues heavy rain warning for June 8-11

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation is warning residents across the north to be aware of heavy rain starting from today, June 8 through to June 11 due to the southwest monsoon that prevailing over Thailand.

The movement of the monsoon may cause additional thunderstorms, heavy rain and flash flooding. Risk areas include Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lampang, Lamphun, Mae Hong Son and Tak who have all been put on alert.

Mr. Komsan Suwannasap, Director of the Defense Center Area 10 Lampang told TNews that that they were monitoring weather and were ready to react to any damage caused by the storms in the four provinces covering Area 10 – Chiang Mai, Lampang, Lamphun and Mae Hong Son.
