Grandmother and 8-month-old child die in Lampang car crash

Two people have been killed and two seriously injured in a head-on vehicle collision in Kagaway, Lampang.

The accident, at 3 p.m. May 28, saw two deaths – Mrs. Thanyan Yayayan, aged 49 and an eight-month-old child named only as Penninee, both from Mueang, Lamphun, while the drivers of the other vehicle, Mr. Sorn Phuvich and Mr. Panyapun Sakul from Nong Pla Mo, Amphoe Nong Khae, Saraburi province were seriously injured.

A third person, described only as the grandfather of the child and also from Lamphun, is believed to have fallen asleep behind the wheel after having driven all day from Bangkok. It’s not clear from reports whether he was injured as well but he not named among the decease or seriously injured.
