Homeless men moved away from Sriphum corner of the moat

Four men, described as homeless, drunk foreigners from Myanmar have been moved away from the Sriphum corner of the Chiang Mai moat following complaints about faeces and garbage at the location.

“They are not allowed to sleep and drink alcohol in this area,” police said, before adding that “in the next week, an anti-begging and homeless shelter will be organized in the Warorot Market area.”

The issue of garbage and faeces at the northeast corner of the moat was first raised last week when some local outlets noted that the area was popular with mainland Chinese tourists.
