Not content with multiple King Kongs and other giant straw animals, Huay Tung Tao is set to have a new King Kong from Jan. 20.
The new kong, described as a “King Kong head” measures six meters high, five meters wide, used 500 bamboo trees to construct and cost 200,000 baht.
In a different move, the new kong is located on a peninsula jutting into the Huay Tung Tao Reservoir, probably due to the fact that they’ve run out of space at the existing location due to excessive straw animals.
Col. Supakorn Ruan Sanit, Office Manager of Tourism Promotion Project, Huay Tung Tao said that he hoped that the new head would bring new visitors to the park.
Along with the head, a new garden is planned for the site.
While hard not to make fun of, the deployment of giant King Kong statues has been a success with visitors to Huay Tung Tao doubling last year to an estimated one million people.
