Two people have been injured after a 10 wheel truck the were in ended up in a ditch on Phayao – Nan Road yesterday, July 10.
The truck was going down a downhill section of the road when the driver lost control, putting the vehicle on its side in Ban Luang District near Highway 1091 marker 92.
Mr. Luang Khamphira, 55 from Nang Nuan, Nan Province was named as the driver of the truck while the other victim was named as Kong Nang Siangno, 41. Both were cut out of the truck and taken to a local hospital.
Brake failure is being blamed with a GPS tracker in the truck indicating that it rapidly sped up just prior to the crash – from 23 km/h just prior to the crash to 77 km/h as the crash occurred.
