One dead, 6M yaba tablets seized in latest shootout in Chiang Rai

A man has been shot dead and over six million yaba tablets seized in the latest shootout between shootout between drug smugglers and the Royal Thai Army in Chiang Rai.

Army officers were patrolling an area in Rim Khong, Chiang Khong District when they came across a Mitsubishi Triton heading down a remote road.

After confronting the vehicle and its occupants, a shootout then occurred with one person being killed.

Another occupant of the vehicle along with a motorcycle rider who was riding with the vehicle managed to escape.
