One dead following fishing accident in Lampang

In yet another case of an accidental drowning, the body of a man has been recovered from the Wang River in Lampang after an alleged fishing accident.

Mr. Chalermchai Aulchua, 43 was said to be fishing beside the river with a friend Friday, Sept. 14 when he slipped and fell into the river.

50 people, including volunteers and emergency services workers, were quickly on the scene where they subsequently recovered Mr. Aulchua’s body around one hour after his disappearance.

Despite Lampang seemingly having a spate of drownings, police believed that there were no suspicious circumstances and it was known that Mr. Aluchua was unable to swim.
