One injured after an 18-wheel truck hits other trucks in Phayao

In a truck-on-truck-on-truck accident, an 18-wheel truck has slammed into a 10-wheel truck that subsequently slammed into another 10-wheel truck at a set of traffic lights in Phayao yesterday, Nov. 13.

The accident occurred at traffic lights at the Daewang Intersection on Highway 1 in Tha Wang Thong, Mueang Phayao at 8:30 p.m. when the 18-wheel-truck failed to stop at a red light.

Reflecting the diversity of trucks in the north, the truck suffering brake failure was from Chiang Rai, one of the 10-wheel trucks was from Chiang Mai while the remaining truck was registered in Pathum Thani but belonged to the Royal Project in Doi Kham.

One person was taken to hospital after she hitting her head on the dashboard of the truck, according to reports she was not wearing a seatbelt.
