Police arrest five Taiwanese nationals, seize 200M baht worth of heroin

Police have arrested five Taiwanese nationals in raids in Chang Klan and San Sai in relation to a drug smuggling operation.

The first arrested occurred in Kad Lom, San Sai with police ambushing a drug deal in a carpark with the subsequent arrests occurring at a hotel in the Night Bazaar.

An estimated 200 million baht worth heroin was seized along with phones, money and other items.

Although not confirmed, reports claim it’s one of the biggest seizures of heroin in the country in recent times, with the heroin itself stored in over 100 packages stored in travel bags.
