Police break up brawling teens at Hai Ya hospital

Police have been forced to break up drunk teens fighting at the Chiang Mai Medical Center Hospital after an earlier brawl between two groups resulted in the second clash.

According to reports, the two groups first clashed on Nimmanhaemin Road, Suthep when one group of teens starting hurling abuse at another group at an unnamed outdoor bar, with as many as 20 teens in total ending up in a full-blown brawl, injuring at least 10.

The first group of the teens fled the scene and later sought treatment at CMMC Hospital due to one of their group requiring stitches, while the other group turned up shortly thereafter, entering the emergency room at the hospital and restart the brawl.

Several small fights broke out in the emergency room until multiple police attended the scene to keep the two groups apart.

One member of the group of teens that chased the other group to the hospital is claiming to be the son of a District 5 police officer.

No arrests have been made but police are said to be investigating the matter further.
