River breaks bank in Nan’s Thung Chang District

Homes have been inundated after a river broke its banks this morning (Sep. 4) in the Thung Chang District of Nan Province.

The flooding started at around 4 a.m. in Moo 8 and 12 Lae Subdistrict with emergency services workers and Royal Thai Army 32nd Infantry Regiment deployed to the scene to assist villagers deal with the water.

Around 20 houses had been inundated as of lunchtime day along with roads and agricultural land.

Assistance was reported to be ongoing as of 2 p.m. Over 100mm of rain was said to have fallen in the area overnight.
