RTC starts experimental bus service to Royal Park Rajapruek

RTC, the company behind Chiang Mai’s public bus services has started an experimental bus service to Royal Park Rajapruek in Mae Hia.

An extension of its existing R3 line, the bus service will run between the Airport and the park and return four times daily.

Going to the park, the R3 special service runs Airport, Central Airport, Wua Lai, Anusan Market, Tha Pae Gate, Nimman then eventually to Royal Park Rajapruek with services leaving the Airport at 7:15 a.m., 9:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.

The return service – which thankfully isn’t nearly as long – runs Royal Park Rajapruek, Tonpayom market, Suan Dok Gate, Central Airport then the Airport with services leaving the park at 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

All trips cost a flat fare of 20 baht.

Given it’s an experimental service it’s exactly that, an experiment with RTC seeing if there is demand for the service before deciding to make it permanent or not.
