School van driver dies in accident in Den Chai District, Phrae

A respected school van driver has died and a number of others injured in a serious accident involving the school van and a truck in Phrae.

The accident occurred Aug. 30 in Moo 6 Sai Yoi, Denchai at around 2 p.m. with the van managing to hit the side of a truck.

The deceased, Mr. Chathip Chompoo, 47 was driving a delegation from the Jom Thong School in Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai to Phitsanulok when the accident occurred.

Among those injured were Mr. Pipat Sai. the director of Chom Thong School as well as Mr. Chai Chetwong Namjai, Mr. Pudung Inthisakdi, Mr. Jittipong Chinochai and Mr. Somboon Jongkham who are also said to be school officials.

Police believe that the truck lost control in wet conditions and slid in front of the van as it was traveling along an unspecified road.
