Several people injured in four-car pile up in Lampang

A number of people have been injured, one seriously, following a four-car pileup on Phaholyothin Road (Highway 1) in Lampang Sunday, June 24.

The accident is said to have occurred when a pickup truck driver from Tak transporting fish to Chiang Mai slammed into the back of one vehicle, causing the cascading effect.

The driver blamed the weather, saying that it started to heavily rain and then the cars in front of them hit their breaks giving him no opportunity to avoid hitting them, as opposed to the not paying attention and tailgating.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident along with witness statements before considering pressing any charges.
