Singaporean cyclist killed by truck in Hang Dong

A Singaporean cyclist has been killed after being run over by a truck in Hang Dong.

The victim, named as retired businessman Denison Seah, 57, who had been living in Chiang Mai for three years, is reported by Singaporean media to have run over buy a 5-ton truck while on a ride with a Thai friend Sunday morning, July 1.

The friend, named as Mr. Justin, 55, said that the pair had been cycling from Mae Hia to Samoeng when the accident happened.

“He usually woke up at 5 a.m. on weekdays to train, but he did not have training on Sundays,” Justin said, noting that the pair had been a casual ride at the time. “He died while he was being taken to the hospital after the accident.”

Following an autopsy, the body of Mr. Seah will be repatriated to Singapore for burial.
