Thailand Post truck driver dead after hitting tree in Lamphun

A driver of a Thailand Post truck has died and another person was injured after the truck ran into a tree in Lamphun early this morning, July 29.

The accident happened on Chiang Mai – Lampang Road (Highway 11) in Tha Sop Sao, Mae Tha District at around 1 a.m.

The male driver of the truck, described as being 30, was thrown out of the truck on impact, dying immediately while a female passenger in the truck was injured and taken to Mae Tha Hospital.

The cause of the accident is not currently known with police said to be investigating but with heavy rain in the north overnight, a slippery road is likely to be a candidate for blame.
