Three small earthquakes have rattled parts of Chiang Rai today in another outbreak of seismic activity in the north.
The first and largest of the earthquakes, registering at 3.3 on the Richter scale struck at 8:55 a.m. this morning Nov. 18 at 19.70N 99.72E – directly under Highway 1 in Than Thong, Phan District. Another earthquake, registering 1.9 struck at the exact same spot at 10:37 a.m.
The odd earthquake out was a 2.0 at 19.74N 99.69E – Dong Mada in Mae Lao District at 10:14 a.m. but like those before it is in an area along the Phayao fault line.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
