Two earthquakes recorded in northern Lampang, largest a 2.9

Another day of seismic activity in the north with two earthquakes recorded in northern Lampang this afternoon, April 18.

The first, a 2.9 on the Richer scale struck at 12:42 p.m at 19.253 N 99.599 E – Thung Hua, Wang Nuea District.

A second quake of 1.5 was recorded at 12:50 p.m. at 19.258 N 99.600 E – Wang Kaeo, Wang Nuea District.

Notably the 2.9 quake was recorded by the Thai Meteorological Department Earthquake Surveillance Division as being felt within the vicinity.

The locations are nearly identical to a large swarm of quakes last month that peaked with 4.1 March 14 that was felt through out the north.
