Unemployed graduate arrested in Chang Phuaek for shoplifting

A 24-year-old unemployed university graduate was arrested by Chang Phueak Police yesterday, Aug. 21 for shoplifting from a “famous Chiang Mai department store.”

The woman, named only as Ms. Kaew, had been visiting a cosmetics store at the shopping center when she was caught on camera placing items into her bag.

A later search of her home in San Sai found dozens of additional cosmetics items that had been shoplifted as well.

Ms. Kaew ended up confessing to police, saying that since graduating from an unnamed Chiang Mai university with a degree in architecture she had been unable to find a job. Desperate, she had turned to shoplifting items then selling them on Facebook.
