Woman rescued after leg became stuck in San Pa Tong drain hole

A woman has been rescued after her leg became stuck in a drain hole in San Pa Tang yesterday, March 13.

The accident occurred outside of the office of Niyom Panich Co. Ltd. in Tambon Yu Wa at around 7:15 p.m.

The unnamed woman, aged between 20 and 25, was walking along the footpath/ sidewalk when her leg fell into a hole on top of a drain and then was subsequently unable to get back out.

Emergency services workers had to use specialized equipment to cut the rest of the drainage cover to rescue the woman.

According to Thai language reports, locals say that cases of people having accidents on poorly maintained footpaths/ sidewalks in the area are common and that Municipal authorities need to do more to fix the issue.
